About the Campaign
African Power Girls Rising is a campaign to encourage you – girls and young women in Southern Africa – to consider careers in the sustainable energy sector.
What does it mean to work in the sustainable energy sector? By working in sustainable energy, you can help power your society with clean, modern, renewable sources such as solar, wind and hydro power! You can also contribute to more efficient use of energy – being smarter with how we use it, so that we reduce costs, pollution and harm to the climate.
The shift to renewables is a big change – a change that needs your ideas and talents. We believe that an energy sector that includes the voices and skills of everyone – women and men – can better power communities and provide equal economic opportunities, while also preserving the health of our environment.
