What exactly do you do in your current job?

Provide solar energy and thermal solutions to Basotho.

What inspired you to start working in sustainable energy?

A realized gab between demand, affordability and availability for renewable energy solutions in Lesotho.

Can you tell us about how you got started working in energy?

With my background in Biotechnology, I started as a research technician for a biogas company then quickly transitioned to solar energy, which I’ll be taking a masters in sustainable energy this year to learn more about.

What do you love about working in the sustainable energy sector?

It is a straight forward field. There’s an abundance of natural renewable resources and I take great pleasure in helping the communities capitalize on them.

What advice or encouragement would you give to girls and young women considering a career in sustainable energy?

There’s different ways to be involved beyond just the technical work which I’ve realized many women and girls avoid, thinking it’ll just be hard labour. There’s planning for one as well as financing. I’d thought the same as well but with experience I’ve realized there’s a lot more to it.
